In the 10 years that have followed the very first civil partnerships, nearly 140,000 people have entered into one, while more than 9,000 same-sex couples have since married.
On 19 December 2005, the UK’s first civil partnerships took place. It was four years later before I photographed Matt & Will’s ceremony, which was a beautiful day packed with lots of fun and emotions ran high!
